Going Further: Discipleship Camp 2015

24268_481577751890950_1872430140_nFor the past two years we have kicked off the year with a weekend away together in a beautiful location. In February this year we camped at Martin’s Bay on the stunning Mahurangi Peninsula, and we can’t wait to continue or summer camp tradition in 2015!

But this summer our camp is going to be a whole new level of amazing – it won’t just be a weekend away, but a whole week… and on the stunning Great Barrier Island!

We are super excited to be partnering with Presbytarian Youth Ministry to be part of Going Further in February 2015. It’s an incredible week in community to consider God’s loving of us and living the Jesus way as we head into the year with our life, career, studies and church.

goingfurther

Following the risen Jesus personally and as part of his body – the church – is the call on our lives – but it is seldom straightforward. We know there must be more, but get distracted, overwhelmed and on occasions discouraged looking for the reality. Going beyond the superficial noise and easy words to the stuff that really matters requires clearing some space to receive and reflect on what’s happening.

It is a time to become more ourselves, to be refreshed by the Holy Spirit, to hear the voice of Jesus, connect in community and to be re-formed in order to go further as God’s people in this complex, beautiful and needy world.
