2016 Film Part 2

These are the films I am looking forward to for the second half of 2016:

Love & Friendship

Costume comedy based on Jane Austen’s Lady Susan.

Based on the Roald Dahl classic, this adventure (directed by Steven Spielberg) looks visually stunning, as well as having the heart and adventure of the book.

The all-female Ghostbusters reboot is finally here and I am PUMPED! Four kick-ass, hilarious women, Chris Hemsworth and slime. What more could you ask for?

Star Trek Beyond

The third film in the newly rebooted Star Trek franchise, this looks like a fun, bright, action-packed adventure.

Suicide Squad

The next entry in the DC Universe, this assembly of villains looks fun, dark, hilarious and has a great cast. Plus Queen in the trailer? SOLD.

Free State of Jones

Based on a true story. A southern farmer inspire and leads a rebellion against the Confederacy during the American Civil War.

Based on the true story of the “Miracle on Hudson”; a passenger jet making an emergency landing on the Hudson river, saving 155 lives.

Pete’s Dragon

Remake of the Disney 1977 classic, filmed right here in NZ. Dragons and adventure. Tick and tick.

Doctor Strange

Benedict Cumberbatch joins the MCU as Doctor Strange, a former surgeon who becomes a superhero when his life falls apart.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them

Our newest look into the Wizarding World, from the makers and writers of the Harry Potter books and franchise. This period adventure set in New York and looks just as magical as the franchise predecessors. Excited!

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story

NEW STARWARS!!! This film is set just before the events of Episode IV, and looks super epic. Can’t wait to get on my Star Wars fix again!

This mythic adventure sees Disney venture in to the South Pacific (that’s us guys!). Written by Taika Waititi (!!!) with music by Lin-Manuel Miranda (!!!!!) starring Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson (!!!!!). Eeeeeeeek!

Eleanor is a full-time student and part-time ministry assistant as AYM. She love film, TV, music, photography and knitting. She wishes she enjoyed cooking more than she does.
