Biopics have to be one of my favourite genres of film (and I LOVE film). There’s something about (almost, sometimes vaguely) true stories being told visually and aurally that immerses you in moments of history like nothing else. This is a list of some of my favourite Biopics (I’ve used the term loosely) and why they have made an impact on me personally. 2015 is going to be a MASSIVE year in film. Multiple blockbuster franchises have new installments for release this year as well as some entries into other film genres. Here are the films I am most looking forward to this year and when they will grace our screens in NZ!
Unbroken (22nd January):
I’m a sucker for biopics, films based on true stories or anything remotely historical. This film is based on the true story of Olympic athlete Louis Zamperini during the second World War. Includes plane crashes and prisoner of war camps. Continue reading →
