Favourite Film’s of 2016

Here are some of my favourite films from 2016. Before we begin though, here is my list of ‘would probably definitely be on this list if I had seen it yet’: Kubo and the Two Strings, Rogue One, Moana, Sing Street, La La Land, Loving, Hacksaw Ridge.

In no particular order …

Zootopia

One of the first films I saw this year and boy did we get off to a fantastic start. This film about talking animals contains countless layers of commentary on gender inequality and racism. While being oh so clever and hilarious. Continue reading

Biopics

Biopics have to be one of my favourite genres of film (and I LOVE film). There’s something about (almost, sometimes vaguely) true stories being told visually and aurally that immerses you in moments of history like nothing else. This is a list of some of my favourite Biopics (I’ve used the term loosely) and why they have made an impact on me personally. At the end I have added a list of Biopics that I haven’t seen yet, but would definitely make the list if I had (and I definitely plan to watch them). Continue reading

My favourite albums of 2014

Kimbra – The Golden Echo. What an album. This album is unbelievable, Kimbra’s uniqueness, artistry and personality comes out in full force and it is incredible to listen to! Plus there is some sneaky stuff in their about religion and spirituality.
